Migrating your collection to Micrio Enterprise ​

When you work with big image collections and don't want to manually upload your images in the dashboard, there is a comprehensible API to automatically upload and process large volumes of images.

Migrating your existing image collection to Micrio ​

The most straight-forward way to get your image collection in Micrio is to upload all original images to our platform using our Server API, instead of manually adding the images using the web-based dashboard. This allows you to add large volumes of new images to your collection, and query the processing status and internal Micrio IDs.

The server API requires a unique API Key, which is connected to your organisation's account. This makes sure that all added images end up in your organisation's image vault, and your own cloud hosting, if applicable.

Using the Server API allows you to add large volumes of images to the processing queue at once. Our tiling servers are scalable and high performance, and generally process your images quickly. However, when you have very large image collections (>100.000 images, or many very high resolution works), please contact us and we can add some additional processing power for you during the migration process.

Migrating an existing IIIF collection ​

Whereas the Micrio client viewer fully supports existing IIIF hosted images, we are currently working on the ability to import existing IIIF collections to the Micrio dashboard, retaining full use of your current infrastructure and hosting, and allowing you to enrich your images with all of Micrio's storytelling features.

Implementing Micrio in your own CMS ​

Using the same server-to-server API used to add new images, it's possible to let Micrio handle new image uploads done in your own CMS, allowing your system to have knowledge of Micrio's ID and additional information.

With that information, you can create direct deeplinks to the Micrio editor for these particular images, allowing your CMS users to enrich the images themselves from your CMS.
