This page is about the Micrio dashboard version 3 (2024), which is the latest version. Use the link below to navigate to the previous version.

The Micrio image editor is the user-friendly, What You See Is What You Get environment where you can enrich your images with markers, tours, and much more.

This documentation section dives into what you can do.

Main interface

The main interface looks like this:

Editor main interface

On the left side you see the fully zoomable image you have uploaded, and on the right side is the main control panel, which consists of several parts; the main publication controls on the top, and the individual content editor below.

Hints, tips and help

Overall, almost all functions are documented inside the editor: look for the ochre ⓘ-button which will expand to a useful explanation of what it does!

Main publication controls

At the top of the control panel, are 3 buttons: language, publication, and exit.

Language control

A very important feature in this version of the dashboard, is the ability to create content in over 600 languages and locales. This includes full right-to-left support.

By default, the image editor is set the base language of your user group or user preference (see User menu), which defaults to English.

If you want to switch to a different language, use the language pulldown menu on the top:

Language pulldown

There, you can select previously added languages for this image, or add a new language:

Language adding

Once you have found your target language, press "Add", and you will be able to add your image content in this language.

TIP

When you have more than one language in your image, the fields that will be translatable into each language will have a small globe-icon next to them.

TIP

While it is possible to publish language data with missing fields, the editor will show an exclamation mark next to content items that are still missing translations.

Publication menu

One of the most important buttons is the publication button.

Publication menu

This menu is about your currently selected language, and allows you to:

  • Publish this language's image content. All your latest changes will be made public
  • Depublish this language (if published prior): remove this language from the published version of this image. Your content will remain in the editor, but viewers of your image will not see this language anymore
  • Preview updates: allows you to preview your unpublished changes in a full-sized viewer experience, which opens in a new tab.
  • Open the public viewer link: the publicly available viewer URL from the Micrio platform (https://i.micr.io/...)
  • Remove language: when you are not using a certain language, you can remove it from the image.

When there are unpublished local changes in the selected language, this button will be orange. When the latest version for this language has been published, this button is green.

Exit button

This button takes you back to the explorer view of the folder where this image resides.
